What VCL will need from you...
- Passport. Must have two blank pages and passport must be valid for at least 6 months on exit.
- One copy of the main passport page. (Which includes the photo, personal and passport information.)
- One copy of the most recent Chinese visa, if any. (Hong Kong and Macau entry stamps not included.)
- One recent passport-sized photo in colour and taken against a white background.
- One completed application form A. Please click here for the Form.
- One signed Declaration form. Please click here for the Form.
- A copy of the flight confirmation.
- A copy of the hotel confirmation.
- Business Letter
An original letter from the UK employer, this must:
1. Be on company letterhead
2. Include the full name of the applicant(s)
3. Specify the purpose of the trip
4. Include the name of the organisation being visited
5. Specify number of entries and length of visa required
6. Include acceptance of financial responsibility for the applicant
7. Be signed by a Supervisor or Manager
- Proof of Approval. Approval by letter from the Foreign Affairs Office in Shanghai or Guangdong Municipal Government.

Important rule changes:
1. Section 3.6; Major family members (on your application form)
- All those under 18 must provide info of both parents, whatever the situation.
- Single person and above 18 to provide at least one family member.
- Those married must provide info of spouse.
- Widows can write 'Live alone' or 'No relatives'.
